Professional Background

Eleftherios (Tery) Tsiliganos is currently a Relationship Manager with BMO Bank of Montreal’s Muskoka Business Banking team, where he manages a diverse portfolio of business and professional clients, and assisting enterprises with needs at all stages of the business life cycle, including startup, growth/maturity, and windup.

With over 20 years of experience in the finance industry, Tery specializes in building long-term client relationships, delivering tailored financial solutions, and driving strategic growth through expert financial advice. With extensive expertise in credit analysis, cash flow management, and risk assessment, Tery leverages these skills along with a broad local, national, and international network to build stakeholder engagement. Known for collaborative leadership and a commitment to excellence, Tery plays a key role in supporting local businesses and contributing to the broader economic development of the region.

Previously, he held roles in the broader Hellenic community, such as the Cretan Association of Hamilton (President) the Cretan Association of Toronto (Treasurer), Hellenic Community of Hamilton & District/St. Demetrios Community Council (President), and GenNext, a division of the United Way Hamilton-Burlington (Vice-Chair).

Role with the HCBT

As Director of the Hellenic Canadian Board of Trade, Tery contributes supports the Board by leveraging his expertise and broad domestic and international network to bring value to stakeholders by advancing member engagement, participating and leading community initiatives, fostering business partnerships between Canada and Greece as well as exploring new avenues for growth and advocacy.

Having served Hellenism in various capacities – tenure as a banker with NBG Bank during their presence in Canada, military service in the Hellenic Republic, and being a community leader in the Hellenic Community of Hamilton, Tery’s dedication to serving and sharing the rich and vibrant Hellenic heritage has been consistent and enduring, and his goal is to continue to advocate for improved business and social ties between Canada and Greece, for the benefit of the present and future generations.


Fun Fact / Personal Note

Outside of work, Niko enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing tennis, soccer, and hockey, and traveling—particularly to Greece, where he spends much of his summer.
